Friendship

"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or rude. It does not demand it's own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no records of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance." - 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 This verse is well known to many people, Christian and non-Christian alike. Most of us have either heard this verse in a wedding, or if you're are married, used it as a part of your vows to each other. This verse is traditionally used as a blueprint for a strong marriage/relationship founded on Christ and the salvation we have through Him, but as I write this, I also see this as a foundation for a strong, Christ-centered friendship. What does it mean to be a friend in this fallen world? To be a friend in a fallen world is to know we are fallen too, but we have a Savior who is alive and dwells in our hearts...
