Strength

Philippians 4:13 "I can do everything through Him who gives me strength." Strength. Most of the time we think of strength as something physical or we think of it as something that we need to acquire in some way. What we don't always realize is the fact that God is the one who holds the strength. I know... I'm quick and to the point on this one. But that is something that is needed for this one. I have been struggling with what I am supposed to do with my life and I am not the most patient person in the world to wait for anything to happen. Should I open my own bistro? Should I continue with my grad school program in the Spring? Should I go to cooking school? What should i do with my life? Am I doing what God wants me to do and what will bring Him glory? I think about this often and it is a daily struggle. I pray my daily verses throughout my day in hope that I will hear from Him and He will make it clear what and where I am supposed to be. As I said, I am not a p...

Tebow vs Manning... Not So Much

My normal blogging typically consists of my views on a certain verse and how God has impacted my life through His word. Well... today is a little different. As most people know, I am a huge sports fan. I love sports, specific teams and certain players on that team. One of my favorite all-time sports players is Peyton Manning. He has been an amazing role model inside and outside the NFL. As most people know, one of my other favorite NFL players is Tim Tebow. He has no fear in sharing the Gospel with the world and I believe that shows who he is and is the same off and on the field. Unfortunately these two players battled for the starting position with the Denver Broncos and Manning won in a way. Manning chose the Broncos. Now, I have NOTHING against Peyton. If anyone were to ask me what player I admire for his sports ability and for his character, one of my top 3 wold be Peyton. I do not hate him, I am just confused and scared by his current actions. For those that have been under a rock...

His Preparation

1 Corinthians 2:9 "However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” the things God has prepared for those who love him." It has been many months since I have looked at this blog, since I have read through this blog. My last post was in June 2011. I was in a dead end job, newly dating someone, living in an unsafe apartment and lost to where God wanted me. I love updates so here is a quick one before I go into today. In July I lost that dead end job, in October I was given another job, but in the most difficult enviroment I had ever been in. In January 2012 I was blessed with an amazing job that I am in to this day. I am surrounded by fellow brothers and sisters, have a wonderful boss and am doing something that I enjoy and helping good people. In May 2011 I began dating a wonderful man that I met on Match.com. Almost 9 months later,we are together and very much in love. In March of this year I will be moving to a wo...
